Introduction to AIX 5L System Administration

Student should be able to use a computer monitor, keyboard, mouse. 
Student needs to be able to input commands and control characters from a keyboard.

Course Description: 
This course teaches basic and advanced topics in UNIX and AIX 5L Administration.  The operating system will be AIX 5L.  The course is taught on an IBM AIX system.

  • Understand the various methods used to backup and restore files and directories, and create a bootable recovery tape.
  • Shutdown, boot, reboot AIX.
  • Learn how to configure Volume Manager and how to setup and manage file systems.
  • Learn how to configure networking.
  • Learn important topics in security and how to secure an AIX system.
